Patek Philippe Split-Seconds Chronograph
Reference 5370P-011 | Platinum
The 5370P-011 combines a platinum case and blue Grand Feu enamel with a split-seconds chronograph. Its interest lies in both the depth of the dial and the mechanism behind a function that becomes clearer when seen in use.

Blue Grand Feu enamel gives depth to a precisely arranged dial. Beneath it, a split-seconds chronograph allows two hands to follow different moments.
Depth in Blue
The Grand Feu enamel dial is made on an 18K gold base. Applied white gold Breguet numerals and feuille hands give its blue surface a distinct and legible arrangement.
White scales bring definition to the chronograph display. The colour has a strong presence, but it is the relationship between surface, markings and applied details that gives the dial its depth.
Time, Divided
The two chronograph seconds hands begin together. The split-seconds function allows one to stop for an intermediate reading while the other continues, before the stopped hand rejoins it.
A pusher integrated into the crown controls that action. It is an involved mechanism serving a clear purpose, allowing different moments to be measured within the same timed event.
The Mechanism in View
The sapphire case back reveals the manually wound calibre CHR 29-535 PS. Two column wheels and a horizontal clutch form part of the construction behind the chronograph and split-seconds functions.
For a collector interested in chronographs, this view adds another dimension to the dial-side experience. The watch offers both the visible action of the hands and the opportunity to study how that action is achieved.
